kugelfischer leakage

Hi, my 504 is leaking from the springed enrichment lever (verrijkeringshefboom?) on the fuel injection.

All the nuts are tight and nothing is obviously wrong.

Any ideas why this might be?

Nobody who is experienced with the Kugelfisher injection pumps?

Not experienced, but ervaringsdeskundige (google the english equivalent, please).

Explain what is leaking, please: cooling water, oil or gasoline?
The adjustment itsef has no liquids in it, so the leakage should come from somewhere else in the region, trace it down.

The leak is oil, I don't really understand the working of the injector but I would have thought petrol would be more likely with 'enrichment'.

The leak seems to be coming from the point where the enrichment lever is attached to the main body of the injector. It collects under the lever spring and drips down but not at the top of the spring. I'm pretty sure everything above it is dry but I will take another look to be sure (when the weather gets better)

There are two sources for oil.
The more or less square body and the part where it is connected to has oil (10W) for lubricating the "plunjers" and the "hefboom" that controls the amount of gasoline injected.
The other source is the normal oil circuit. You can see a tube in a light curl very near the lever you pointed out.
Hope you can find out where the oil comes from...

hi JT,

I've (finally) cleaned it all up and run the engine again and the oil still forms first on the bottom of the spring of the enrichment lever next to the lever itself. So, I guess it must be leaking from where the it connect to the square body of the injector?

If I take it all off and check the bearing or seals or whatever there is will it burst open like a swiss watch or is it pretty straight forward? I can't seem to find any drawings of this part.

The square body in connected with 4 inbus bolts.
There is a thin "pakking" between the square body and the rest of the injection-system. I don't know if these pakkingen still are available, you can always cut a new one out of "pakking-papier" ...

ok, but do you think I have to remove the whole of the injection body?

I thought I'd start by removing the bolt at the end of the enrichment lever and see if I can remove all of that assembly up to the square body first?

When you open that up, you will see the chamber where the oils should be.
Place a "teiltje" under your car to keep your floor clean!! :wink:
