hello, i bought a nice 104 GL from 78`with the 1L engine. im happy with everything except its ultra high rpm above 90kmh. it hurts to drive it faster than that. so im wondering if there is a 5 gear box avaliable? would it help to look for a slightly bigger engine from the 104 series? dont want to go nuts but i need some solution to bring that thing up to lets say 110 kmh at a decent rpm. its not my daily driver but i feel a modification on this side would triple the fun. greatful for any hint, regards kristian

Hi Kristian,

You could drop a 1.1 with gearbox in or a 1.3. Building in a 5 speed gearbox is also possible but you need to have a different subframe in which the engine sits due to the 5th gear in the gearbox.

interesting, which engin is considered to be best? -> i hate how the ignition distributor is located on my engine . . .
