Another one is for sale right now on ebay: a red 1964 Cabriolet that has the serial number 4592842, which the seller kindly provided to me.

So we have 1405 cars on the list now!

One small step for man, one giant leap for 404C-kind (my apologies to Neil Armstrong):

On the online 404 serial number forum, a new 404 Cabriolet was registered today, a red Cabriolet Injection in the Bouches-du-Rhône: Nr. 4599088.

Wow! It has been a good couple of days....another 404 Cabriolet was registered today on the serial number website: 6801250, a white Cabriolet in Belgium!

So the total climbs to 1407 cars....

These folks in Brummen kindly added the following car to our list:

And the total finally rises to 1408 404 C cars (of which 86 are in the Netherlands)! I would sure like to receive more Dutch 404 C serial numbers, because I think we may only have about half of them in the Club 404 registry so far!

Well the Club 404 records go back to 1982....so perhaps around that time the car was still in France. It was recorded as being in Condition 2 at the time (it sounds like 4 now).

We got two more today: a red Cabrio in France on eBay, with Robergel wheels (4597337) and a red Cabrio in Tunisia with Hard top and Nardi floor shifter (6800523).

Total: 1410!

It was at the Mon Plaisir in Etten Leur, not in my region, when i was there the bos wasn't, and his employee thought the plan was to restaure it before selling, more couldn't he tell me about it. Sorry.

Mockenrue has very kindly sent some more new numbers to me, which brings the total to 1416 cars!

The new ones:
4495645 - Cabriolet (NL)
4670098 - Cabriolet (NL)
4596323 - Cabriolet (NL)
6800602 - R.I.P. - Coupé wrecked for parts in Belgium in 1987
6802230 - Cabriolet stolen in 1991 (Isère - France)

Also: 4499084, a Cabriolet, was already in the database but it was formerly in the USA and then was imported to the Netherlands.

The Dutch total for 404 C cars in this database has risen to 91.....I sure would like to get that up over 100!

I found another one this evening on the web: No: 4592431, Carrosserie: 3545, a white Cabriolet from 1964 but with the front end of the 1967+ model, restored in the USA and for sale at the CHEAP :lol:

price of $50K US (a little expensive)!!!

Another one is for sale in Greece right now: 4591289, a light blue cabriolet. The original injection engine is gone, replaced by a carbureted unit. The front end was rebuilt with the post-1966 nose panel and driving lights plus the interior has been butchered and replaced with incorrect seats and uphostery.

But as with all 404 C cars, it is definitely worth saving, contact: dornier--@--hotmail dot com or take a look here: http://www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/classic-car-page.php/carno/95362 if anyone fancies a trip to Athens to save an unloved 404 C.

Total: 1418 cars!

Another two have been identified: the first, a Coupé that was scrapped years ago in France but whose engine lives on in a 404 Sedan: 4592341

Also, on a happier note, a 404 Cabriolet owner from Madrid has added his car to the list: 4498196 - red with black leather interior.

The revised total is 1420 cars!

A red cabriolet is for sale right now in Madrid. The owner told me its number is 4596047. That makes it Nr. 1422 in the census!

My friend in Germany found one in Switzerland for me, number 4590554, a blue Mendoza cabriolet. Total: 1423 cars!
