Thanks, Arthur!
Well there is a story behind the next two I will list here. GT Spirit is a company in France, near Lyon, that sells VERY expensive cars, including 404 Cabriolets at about 30K Euro (as I said, VERY expensive cars).
About a year ago I asked them once or twice what the serial numbers of a couple of 404 C cars they were selling was, and they told me. Since then, they won't pass the info on, well probably because I would not buy one of their cars...
But they do post photos of them online, not with a good enough resolution to read the serial number, but sometimes clear enough to read the Carrosserie Peugeot number, which is almost as good as the serial number so far as the Registry is concerned. It seems to me that they should show the serial numbers in the advertisement and mention whether the chassis number (serial number) matches the chassis number on the engine, which could affect the value....but they don't.
However, two of the four cars for sale there right now have visible Carrosserie Peugeot numbers, so I have added them to the list:
Carrosserie Nr. 6643, Coupé Carburator 1965, Noir 1000, Red Leather, for sale at GT Spirit December 2010, 01120 LA BOISSE, FRANCE
Carrosserie Nr. 1741, Cabriolet Injection 1963, Blanc Saratoga 1031, Black Leather, for sale at GT Spirit December 2010, 01120 LA BOISSE, FRANCE
Total: 1470 !
1966 Peugeot 404 Coupé Injection 4598609 in restoration 2017-21
2006 smart BRABUS Canada 1 cdi cabriolet
2008 Mercedes-Benz B 200 5 speed
